The Stub Quarterly Declaration

The pillars that will keep Stub on track and hopefully make it great!

1. Made in Leeds. Performed in Leeds.

If they have played or are from Leeds, we want to rave about them and shine a spotlight on them so send your words/pictures to us. If we did not limit the focus in this way, due to the immense musical talent across the industry, collating Stub would become a logistical nightmare. Sorry Bradford!

2. Celebration not criticism.

A band may just have formed, had a bad night, or may just not be to your taste. We want to encourage anyone to pursue their artform and a bad review in a local publication is not going to do them any favours. Negative reviews will not be published.

3. Community Funding.

While the first issue is free, there while be a small cost to buy future issues. This is because there are costs to print and there are costs to sell. The editors are just normal folk with normal jobs who cannot fund it alone, so the community spirit works this way as well. It is our promise though that if by some miracle, Stub turns a profit, it will be reinvested to make Stub even better.

4. Any Genre.

The last thing we want to do is pigeonhole Stub to only include specific genres. From egg punk to folk, there’s space for it in these pages.

5. Any Person.

Stub will only be successful through diversity. Everyone has different tastes and will know more about the up and comers or an under-appreciated group in the genres they listen to. Shout about them here.

Seen them? Listened to them? Remember them?
We want to hear about them.
